Margins differ from old to new and among different varieties.

Explanation:

Old leaves are flat with dark colour or sometimes yellowish brown spots due to potassium deficiency.
New leaves cover panicle at the top. They tender .
Venation is parallel due to the monocot character of seed
Root system is Fibrous also due to monocot seed
