Maria has 5 kittens. For the holiday maria decided to dress all the kittens up. Three kittens got blue ribbons and the other three kittens got pink ones. how many kittens got two ribbons?​

Given:

No. of kittens Maria has= 5

No. of ribbons used= 3pink + 3 blue = 6

To find:

No. of kittens with two ribbons

Solution:

Since there is 1 more ribbon than there are number of kittens,

and according to question, all kittens were dressed up

so after giving one ribbon each to a kitten, one ribbon remains which is then given to one of the 5 kittens.

Hence, only one kitten has two ribbons
