Maria’s parents played an essential role in her success.

At very young age, she was sent to the United States for her tennis training.

This was a turning point in her life and led her towards the path of success.

Going to Florida with her father lead her towards the path of success.

Her parents worked hard to help her to achieve her goal. They encouraged her and didn't let her loose hope. Little Maria had not yet celebrated her 10th birthday when she was packed off to train in the United States bt her parents. That trip to Florida with her father Yuri launched her on the path to success and stardom. Her father worked as much as he could to keep her tennis-training going.
So, it can be concluded that her parents were very supportive.
