Marianne sells two sizes of photo.
These photos are mathematically similar rectangles.
The smaller photo has length 15cm and width 12cm.
The larger photo has area 352.8cm2.
Calculate the length of the larger photo.

Let l be the length of bigger rectangle and b be the breadth of the bigger rectangle.

Then, \dfrac{l}{b}=\dfrac{15}{12}=\dfrac{5}{4}

Let l= 5x and b= 4x , then

Area of bigger rectangle = l x b = (5x)(4x)= 20 x²

Since, The larger photo has area 352.8cm².

Then, 20x^2=352.8

x^2=17.64\\\\ x=\sqrt{17.64}=4.2

Now , the length of the larger photo. = 5(4.2) =21 cm

Hence, the length of the larger photo is 21 cm.
