Answer with explanation:

Pizza ordered by Mark and his friends =2, same kind of Pizza

it is given that, The first pizza is cut into 6 slices of equal size and the second pizza is cut into 4 slightly slices of equal size.

So, Size of each part of first pizza which is cut into 6 slices

         =\frac{1}{6}

Size of each part of second pizza which is cut into 4 slices

         =\frac{1}{4}

So, if mark has chosen two slices from first pizza,total amount of pizza got by mark

=\frac{1}{6}+\frac{1}{6}=\frac{2}{6}=\frac{1}{3}

→ If mark has chosen two slices,one from first pizza and another one from, second pizza,total amount of pizza got by mark will be,

=\frac{1}{6}+\frac{1}{4}=\frac{10}{24}=\frac{5}{12}

→ If mark has chosen two slices from Second pizza,total amount of pizza got by mark will be

=\frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{4}=\frac{2}{4}=\frac{1}{2}

Writing \frac{1}{3} into equivalent fraction having denominator ,equal to 12,will be

\frac{1}{3}=\frac{4}{12}

\frac{5}{12}>\frac{4}{12}

So, Yes mark is right by saying that, he would get more pizza by taking 1 slice from each pizza,instead of 2 slices from the first pizza.
