MARK AS BRAINIEST PLUS 50 POINTS librarian recently gave a speech about the benefits of reading fiction. Which sentence from the excerpt best demonstrates the purpose statement of the speech?
The wise Dr. Seuss once said, “The more you read, the more things you will know.” Do you agree with him? I certainly do. Through this speech, I want you to understand the value of fictional works and the importance of reading more fiction. I’m going to show you the ways in which reading fiction boosts our emotional intelligence. Fictional works contain many types of characters. It’s common for readers to start relating to some of these character types. As a result, readers also start sympathizing with their favorite characters’ plights. In this manner, fictional characters make readers more sensitive to reality. They help readers develop a sense of empathy toward their fellow beings.
