Mark frue (T) or false (F):

1. Soil is the uppermost weathered layer of the earth. (T)

The above statement is true as the soil is the uppermost layer where we live, the crust is very deep and not suitable for human conditions to survive. Soil is a mixture of organic matter, gases, and minerals where many chemical and biological process takes place.

2. Translocation is the process through which rocks are broken down(F)

The above statement is false as erosion is the process through which rocks are broken down and translocation is a biological transfer of water and nutrients from one part of the plant to the other.

3. A mature soil has three main different layers over the parent rock. (T)

The above statement is true as mature soil has three layers of complete layers like topsoil, subsoil, and parent rock. All the layers can be easily observed by their texture, color, and weathering.

4. India lies both in the  tropical and sub-tropical regions(T)

It is due to the existence of the Tropic of cancer making it tropical and himalayas which makes the northern part of India  sub tropical.

5. Alluvial soils are basically fertile and arable.(T)

The statement is true as alluvial soil is considered the most suitable soil for agriculture due to its clay nature and rich in nutrients which is beneficial for plants.
