• Mica is a mineral formed in groups of sheets of silicate, mostly found in purple, rosy, silver, gray etc. Widely distributed in igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock cycles. Formed by the large crystal of granitic rocks.

• Mica mines are found in Gay, Gurpa district, Koderma, Hazaribag, Giridih in Jharkhand district. Apart from this Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh is also famous for crude mica production.

• Used in making textiles and medicines.
