Given data :-

  • Marked price of three items are Rs 1200, Rs 500, Rs 2400.
  • Discount on item of Rs 1200 is 10%
  • Discount on item of Rs 500 is 5%
  • Discount on item of Rs 2400 is 12%

To find :-

  • Selling price of each item ?

Solution :-

Let, first items marked price be Rs 1200 and discount percent is 10% and second items marked price be Rs 500 and discount percent is 5% and third items marked price be Rs 2400 and discount percent is 12%

To find selling price of first item

Here, we use formula of Discount %

→ Discount % = {Discount/Marked price} × 100.

{According to given}

→ 10 = {Discount/1200} × 100

→ 10/100 = Discount/1200

→ 0.1 = Discount/1200 i.e.

→ Discount = 0.1 × 1200

Discount = Rs 120

Now,

→ Selling price = Marked price - Discount

→ Selling price = 1200 - 120

Selling price = Rs 1080

To find selling price of second item

Here, we use formula of Discount %

→ Discount % = {Discount/Marked price} × 100.

{According to given}

→ 5 = {Discount/500} × 100

→ 5/100 = Discount/500

→ 1/20 = Discount/500

→ 0.05 = Discount/500 i.e.

→ Discount = 0.05 × 500

Discount = Rs 25

Now,

→ Selling price = Marked price - Discount

→ Selling price = 500 - 25

Selling price = Rs 475

To find selling price of third item

Here, we use formula of Discount %

→ Discount % = {Discount/Marked price} × 100.

{According to given}

→ 12 = {Discount/2400} × 100

→ 12/100 = Discount/2400

→ 3/25 = Discount/2400

→ 0.12 = Discount/2400 i.e.

→ Discount = 0.12 × 2400

Discount = Rs 288

Now,

→ Selling price = Marked price - Discount

→ Selling price = 2400 - 288

Selling price = Rs 2112

Hence, selling price of first, second and third item is Rs 1080, Rs 475 and Rs 2112 respectively.
