Zeminos: After giving a discount of 40% on an article, there is still a profit of 25%. If no discount is given, then what will be the profit percentage?
Zeminos: Can you help me solve this one too.
Zeminos: The answer is 108.33.
sabrinanandini2: Let’s call price before discount as MRP.
Not after 40% discount on MRP, you are selling it at 60% of MRP which is equal to 125% of Cost Price as profit is 25%.
So,
60*MRP/100=125*CP/100
MRP = 125*CP/60
MRP = 125*100/60 % of CP
MRP = 625/3 % of CP
MRP = 208.33% of CP
Now if you sell at MRP your profit is 108.33%.
Zeminos: Ok now i understand. Thank you so much.
