Q13. The ages of Vedant and Anand are
in the ratio 5:7. Four years from now the
ratio of their ages will be 3:4. Find their
present ages.

Let their present ages of Vedant and Anand be 5x and 7x respectively.

Therefore their age after 4 years,

Vedant=5x+4

Anand=7x+4

APQ

(5x+4) / (7x+4)= 3/4

after cross multiplication,

4(5x+4)=3(7x+4)

20x+16=21x+12

x=4

Therefore,

Present age of Vedant= 5 x 4= 20

Present age of Anand= 7 x 4= 28
