Let the initial number of boxes be x.

Then Maria Bought 7 boxes , so total number of boxes = x+7

Therefore , According To Question→

(x+7)/2 = 22

or, x+7 = 22×2

or, x+7 = 44

or, x = 44-7

or, x = 37
