Answer:

Martha was a hard working student who saw to it that she obtained A Grade in all subjects from Grade 1 – 8. She lived with her grandfather and grandmother because her parents did not have enough money to raise her. Even though, she was happy with them and continued to put in all her effort for her academic excellence. She did not excel in extra – curricular activities as she had to pay for the various sports activities. Like all optimistic children she had an eye for the scholarship jacket. It was her dream from childhood. When she heard her masters arguing as to who should be given the jacket, she felt depressed. Her Principal said that she could have the jacket for 15 dollars. When she raised the question in front of Grandpa he had another version of the scholarship jacket. Scholarship is something you earn by your ability but not what you buy for money. In the end, the scholarship jacket was given to her and it was one of the most thrilling moments of her life.
