Martin Luther wrote 95 Theses that criticized the rituals of the Roman Catholic church. First, those were posted on the church door and forced the church to debate on those ideas.

Later, those ideas were printed and read widely by the people.

This led to the protestant reformation.

The  translation of the new testament was printed on a large scale and read by a large population. this is when Luther praised the mechanism of printing and said that it was God's greatest invention.
