longest bolt=22/8
shortest bolt=3/8

Difference=22/8-3/8=19/8

Given: bolts of sizes have given:
3/8 inch,
 1/2 inch,
 5/8 inch,
 7/8 inch,
1 1/4 inch.

To find: The difference between longest and shortest bolt

by taking LCM we get,
3/8 inch,
4/8 inch,
5/8 inch,
7/8 inch,
10/8 inch.

∴The largest bolt is of length is 10/8 inch
∴The smallest bolt is of length is 3/8 inch.

Hence, the difference is 10/8 - 3/8= 7/8 inch
