let the number of shirts be x

let the number of pants be y

from the given condition,

x=2y-2

x=4y-4

equating two values of x,

2y-2=4y-4

4-2=4y-2y

2 =2y

2/2=y

y=1

sub y=1 in x=2y-2

×=2 (1)-2

×=0
