Given :  Mary has 24 pastries and wants to share pastries with her 20 friends.

To find : The greatest number of pastries any friend can get

Solution:

Here could be lot of assumptions

Mary her self will not eat pastry

Each friend will get atleast 1 pastry

So 20 pastries will be distributed to 20 friends

now pastries left = 24 - 20 = 4  Pastries

if all pastries given to one friend then

one friend can get 1 + 4 = 5 pastries

5 pastries at maximum

any friend can get maximum 5 pastries

if no condition that every friend get atleast one pastry

then any friend can get 24 maximum pastries

if Pastries shared equally in friends

then each friend get 24/20  = 1.2 pastry
