according to question,x=5y

after 5 years ,

Mary age will be= x+5

and her sister age = y+5

according to question, (x+5)-(y+5)=2

then x-y= 2

and we have x= 5y put value of x

so 5y-y=2

4y=2

y=1/2that is 6 months

then x= 5 ×6=30 months

that is 24+8 months i.e.2 years 8 months
