mas
A bomb burst in three fragments in which two fragments of equal mass of 1 kg each moving with
speed v right angle to each other while third fragment of having mass twice that of either masses. If
kinetic energy of system (all masses) increase by 96 J after bursting then find out CORRECT
statement about third fragment :-
(A) Will move with speed 4 m/s at angle of 135° to either.
(B) Will move with speed 4/2 m/s at angle of 135º to either.
(C) Will move with speed 412 m/s at angle of 45° to either.
(D) Will move with speed 4 m/s at angle of 45° to either.

Answer:

The underlying force is 0

Beginning energy = last force

Last force:

Resultant force for the two is.

Mass is consistent and depends not on the heading.

12² + 9² = 225

The resultant speed = √225 = 15m/s

Since the mass is equivalent we have.

Force = 15m

Give the speed of the third one a chance to be v

The last force is = mv + 15m

0 = mv + 15m

- 15m = mv

v = - 15

The speed of the third one is :

15 m/s
