The word "Maid" has been used for females for a long time now. Talking about men, the appropriate word would be a servant.
A servant would be responsible for the same chores that a maid is entitled to do. The work may also depend on the things that get worked out between the servant and the person he serves.
Having said that, referring your female maid as a servant would not be considered wrong under any circumstances.
