SolutioN :

For Earth

  • Mass = M
  • Radius = R

Let us consider an object of mass m, on the surface of the earth. So, by using for acceleration due to gravity we get,

⇒ g1 = GMm/R²

⇒ Where, g1 = 9.8

For Another planet

  • Mass = 4M
  • Radius = 2R

Similarly here, consider the same object of the mass m.

⇒ g2 = G(4M)m/(2R)²

⇒ g2 = 4GMm/4R²

⇒ g2 = GMm/R²

⇒ g2 = g1

⇒ g2 = 9.8 m/s²

  • Acceleration due to gravity on that planet is same that of earth i.e., 9.8 m/s²
