The chemical formula of sugar is C12H22O11
1mole = 1gram molecule = molar mass of sugar= 12×12 + 22×1 + 11×16=144 + 22 + 176 = 342g

So 0.5gram molecule of sugar = 0.5 moles of sugar = 0.5 × 342 =171g

HOPE IT HELPS..... :-)
