Answer:

let initial velocity be 'v'

and initial mass of the body be 'm'

Then Initial kinetic energy =mv²/2

final kinetic energy when mass is 2m, velocity is v/3

=2m(v/3)²/2

=mv²/9

therefore (initial KE)/(final KE)= mv²/2/mv²/9

= 9/2
