Given:

Mass of an object on earth (m) = 1600gm

To find:

Mass of object on moon= ?

Solution:

  • The amount of matter present in an object is termed as mass. It is usually expressed in the unit such as grams and kilograms.
  • The mass of an object is independent on its location as well as the gravitation force exerted upon it.
  • This means that the mass of a substance remains the same in all the places, whereas weight may vary.
  • Accordingly, as the mass of an object on earth is 1600gm, the object will have the same mass on the moon too. Therefore its mass on the moon is 1600gm.
