                    weight on earth

m=20kg

g=9.8m/s^2

W=MG

w=20*9.8

=196

               weight on moon

m=20kg

gravitational force on moon is 1.6m/s^2

W=MG

=20*1.6    (*simbol show is multipication)

=32

Given:

Mass of object = 20 kg

To find: Weight of object on earth and on moon

Calculation:

  • Weight of object is defined as the force of gravity exerted on the object by the ground.
  • It is expressed in Newtons.
  • Weight or Force of gravity, F_{G}=mg , where m is the mass of object and g is the gravitational acceleration of the planet.
  • Value of 'g' varies in the universe.

Value of g on earth is 9.8 m/s^{2}.

So, weight of object on earth = 20 * 9.8 = 196 Newton

Value of g on moon is 1.62 m/s^{2}.

Weight of object on moon = 20 * 1.62 = 32.4 Newton

Answer:

Weight of object on earth is 196 Newton.

Weight of object on moon is 32.4 Newton.
