Mass of an object is 20kg.Find its weight on earth. What will be its weight when measured on the surface of moon?​

As everybody knows that mass is constant, so it will remain same, on earth as well as moon, even on sun, Hahaha.

But in case of weight, it will be changing with the change of gravity and mass, as known from eq below:

W=mg.

On the earth the weight of the body having mass 20kg will be 198N. (proved below).

W=mg …….1

(m=20kg, g=9.8m/s) put in 1

W=20×9.8=196N

Now to find weight on moon again use eq 1

W=mg

(m=20kg, g=1.6m/s)

W=20×1.6

W=32N

So the weight of the body on moon will be 32N

Mass=20kg

Massis always constant.

So

F=ma

W=20×1.6

W=32N
