Weight = mass*gravity
=40*10
=400N

400N

The weight of the object is the gravitational force acting on it. The gravitational force exerted on the item is defined as a vector quantity in several mainstream textbooks. Some define weight as a scalar quantity, given gravitational force's magnitude. The mass of 1,000 cubic cm of water is very nearly equal to a kilograms (this was initially intended to be exactly equal).
