Mass does not depend on the location. So it will remain same everywhere. But weight w=mg, depends upon acceleration due to gravity. Value of g varies according to location g(moon)=g(earth)/6. So mass of dog will remain 40kg but it’s weight will become 40/6= 6.67N

Answer:

mass of dog on moon=40kg

weight of dog on moon= 6.66.........kg

Explanation:

mass of dog on moon would remain the same as the mass of dog on earth.

{mass, in physics, the quantity of matter in a body regardless of its volume or of any forces acting on it.}

So the mass of an object would  always remain the same on any planet or any place in the universe.

weight of dog on moon would be 1/6th of the weight on earth

So when we divide the wieght of dog on earth by 6 we get 6.6666.......kg

i.e. 40/6=6.6666...........kg

therefore mass of dog on moon=40kg;

                weight of dog on moon=6.666.......kg
