1. active transport.

Active transport is where molecules move against their concentration gradient (with the help of ATP). They move from a low concentration to a high concentration. The molecules, much like the dog, doesn't want to go against it's concentration gradient, it wants to go from high -> low. But it's being dragged across the membrane, or into the bathtub.

2. phagocytosis

A cell takes up/envelops molecules or substances inside it, much like eating. In fact, part of the definition is that phagocytosis is cell "eating."

3. facilitated diffusion

Facilitated diffusion is the diffusion of molecules across their concentration gradient with the help of carrier proteins or channels. The wagon is acting like a carrier protein, facilitating the dogs movement through the door.

4. Pinocytosis

Pinocytosis is commonly referred to as cell "drinking."

5. Passive diffusion

Passive diffusion is the movement of molecules without any help to run down their concentration gradient (from high to low concentration) to establish an equilibrium (even distribution). There are a lot of people in the room, and they are gradually leaving, to a 'lower' concentrated area.
