Ignatius of Loyola - Society of Jesus

It was a scholarly religious congregation of the Catholic Church. Francis Xavier and Peter Faber were also its founders.


Pope Paul III - Established the Roman Inquisition

In 1542 he established the Congregation of the Holy Office of the Inquisition. It was a permanent congregation.
