Method:

Preparation of “waste water”

1. 100 ml of water

2. 5g soil

3. 1ml oil

4. 1ml detergent

5. Small bread crumbs

Record the appearance of your wastewater.

Procedure

1. Measure 20ml of wastewater.

2. Pour 20 ml of wastewater through the filter. Observe the filtered water and record your observations.

3. Pour 10 ml of waste water into a test tube and add one loopful of bacteria to tube 1.

4. Cap the tube and record your observations the following day.

5. Pour 10 ml of wastewater into a tube 2 and add 0.5ml of bleach to the tube, cap and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Record your observation.
