Qutub Minar is five storeys high. the band of instructions are under its first balcony. the first floor was constructed by qutubuddin Aybak and the rest by Iltutmish around 1229. over the years was damaged by lightening and earthquakes and repaired by Alauddin khalji and Muhammad Tughluq group and Ibrahim Lodi.the surface of minarets is curved and angular.it is made of stone and brick.
