It is a well known truth that materialistic things don't really last.all signs of worldly power, glory and grandeur fade away with the passage of time.kings and princes get their statues  and monuments erected so as to be remembered by posterity .however wonderful they may be, they all eventually face neglect, decay and deterioration .they all face the ravages of time.all these statues are nothing but a nine-day wonder.
in stark contrast to this are our relationships.they are immortal.time cannot destroy them.rather , they get strengthened with the passage of time.the poet is of the opinion that it is not the riches that matter in this world .rather,it is the people we care about that does.the love between us shall live longer than these monuments.neither death nor wars shall be able destroy our memory.hence,it is our relationships and love that matter in this world
