Following BODMAS rule :

\sf\:-18+12-(-4) +(-16)

  • Simplifying the brackets

\sf\implies\:-18+12+4 -16

  • Arranging the -ve and +ve numbers together

\sf\implies\:12+4-18 -16

\sf\implies\:16-18 -16

BODMAS rule states that in an expression containing multiple arithmetic operations , there is an order in which they are to be solved.

The order for solving them is provided by BODMAS. The order is as follows :

  • B which means simplification of brackets

  • O order or exponents

  • D for division

  • M for multiplication

  • A for addition

  • S for subtraction
