Solution:

=⟩ 3√2 + 2√2 - 5√2

=⟩ 5√2 - 5√2

=⟩ 0

  • -√50 can also be written as -√25×2 = -5√2
  • By writing in this way, all the surds can be converted to like surds, and hence can be added and subtracted.
