Incident ray: The light rays passing from air into glass or water are called incident rays.
Refracted ray: When the light rays bend after passing into another medium, they are called refracted rays. Normal: The point of incidence is called normal.

Finally when the light again comes out from the glass slab and passes to air outside, again there is a change in the path. This ray of light which passes from the denser medium to the rarer medium is called the emergent ray. The ray which passes throught the medium is emergent ray.
