we considered a steel rod and a rubber rod of equal length land of equal area of cross section A. Ys and Yr the young's modulus of the Steel and Rubber respectively .ls and lr be the extension produced in the steel and the rubber rod respectively by the equal tensile force.
Ys= f.l / a.ls and Yr= f.l / a.lr
Ys / Yr = lr / ls
i.e Y= 1/l
lr > ls (practically)
Ys > Yr.
Hence , Steel is more elastic than rubber.
