Answer:

A in 1 day can do 1/12 job

B in 1 day can do 1/6 job

So in 1 day both can finish 1/12+1/6=3/12=1/4 job

In 2 days they finish 2×(1/4)=1/2 job

Amount of job remaining =1-(1/2)=1/2 job

A finishes 1/12 job in 1 day

So A can finish the (1/2) job in (12/1)×(1/2)=6 days
