x^+2×x×y+y^=81

x^+y^+2×(-22)=81

x^+y^(-44)=81

x^+y^=81+44

x^+y^=125

Given :

x + y = 9 ----------- ( 1 )

xy = -22 ----------- ( 2 )

Solution :

xy = -22

$\mathtt{y = -\frac{22}{x}}$ ------- ( 3 )

Substituting value of y in eqñ ( 1 ) .

x - $\mathtt{\frac{22}{x}}$ = 9

x² - 22 = 9x

x² - 9x - 22 = 0

x² + 2x - 11x - 22 = 0

x( x + 2 ) -11 ( x + 2 ) = 0

( x - 11 ) ( x + 2 ) = 0

x = 11 , x = -2

We may neglect the negative value of x .

x + y = 9

11 + y = 9

y = 9 - 11

y = -2

( i )

—» 11 - ( - 2 )

—» 11 + 2

—» 13 .

( ii )

—» x² + y²

—» ( 11 )² + ( -2 )²

—» 121 + 4

—» 125 .
