AnsWer :

x = 2√2 and x = - 1/√2

Solution :

We have,

√2x² - 3x - 2√2 = 0.

Compare with General Quadratic Equation,

ax² + bx + c = 0.

Where as,

  • a = √2
  • b = - 3
  • c = - 2√2

By Splitting the Middle term.

=> √2x² - 3x - 2√2 = 0.

=> √2x² - 4x + x - 2√2 = 0.

=> √2x ( x - 2√2 ) + 1 ( x - 2√2 ) = 0.

=> ( √2x + 1 )( x - 2√2 ) = 0.

\rule{90}1

Either,

=> √2x + 1 = 0.

=> x = - 1/√2.

\rule{90}1

Or,

=> x - 2√2 = 0.

=> x = 2√2.

Therefore, the value of x - 1/√2 and 2√2.
