Nagaland was the 16th Indian state to form. It was announced on 1st Dec 1963 as an independent state. It has 16,580 sq km land area (6400 sq miles). It has a population of 19,80,602 as per the 2011 Census of India. The one-fifth land of Nagaland is covered with forest land. The state has Mount Saramati as the highest peak at 12,602 ft. The main rivers of Nagaland are Doyang, Diphu and Barak.

Manipur is an Indian state in the north east part of the country. Imphal is the capital of Manipur. It has a land area of 22,327 sq km (8,621 sq miles). It has a population of 2,855,794 as per the 2011 Census of India. 64% of the total area of Manipur is covered by natural vegetation. It is approximately 14,365 sq km (5,546 sq mi).
