Dimension, perimeter and area of the National flag.

The dimension of our National flag is not fixed it can vary from piece to piece.

But we have a definite ratio of the dimension of the flag which is 2:3 which means the ratio of the height and width must be 2:3.

So we can find the perimeter and area for one of the sizes of the standard flag.

There are a total of  9 standard sizes of the flag.

Let us take the size 900mm×600mm

The shape of the flag is rectangular,

so the perimeter is given by:

P = 2(l+b)

P = 2(900+600)

P = 3000 mm

Area is given by:

A = l×b

A = 900×600

A = 540000 mm²
