Since x= 5+2√6

1/x = 1/(5+2√6)

    = 1/(5+2√6)  * (5-2√6)/(5-2√6)  (rationalizing denominator)

    = (5-2√6)/(25-4*6)

    = (5-2√6)

x+1/x = 10

x+1/x + 2 =12

this is of form a² + b² + 2ab = (a+b)², where a= √x and b=1/√x

So (√x +1/√x)²= 12

(√x +1/√x)= 2√3
