Substituting Value in Place of x :

Solution:

Amount = 120

Divide rupees 120 among A, B &C in ratio 3:4:5

Let the ratio be x

A's Share = 3x

B's share = 4x

C's share = 5x

Total Amount = 108

So, 3x+4x+5x=120

12x=120

x=$\frac{120}{12}$x=120x=10

A's Share = 3x=3(10)=30

B's share = 4x=4(10)=40

C's share = 5x=5(10)=50

Hence A, B and C share are Rs.30 , Rs.40 and Rs.50 respectively.
