Answer:

0,√2,-√2

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = x³ - 2x

to find zeroes...

x³ - 2x = 0

x(x² - 2) = 0

therefore x = 0 , √2 , -√2

GIVEN :

The function f is defined by f(x)=x^3-2x^2

TO FIND :

The zeros of the given function f(x)

SOLUTION :

From the given equation  f(x)=x^3-2x^2

To find the zeros of f(x).

First equate the given function f(x) to zero.

That is f(x)=0

f(x)= x^3-2x^2= 0

Now solving the cubic equation

x^3-2x^2=0

Taking the common term x^2 outside.

x^2(x-2)=0

x^2=0 or x-2=0

Hence x=0, 0  or x=2

∴ the zeros are 0,0 and 2.

∴ the zeros of the given function f(x) is 0,0 and 2.
