An isosceles triangle ABC is similar to triangle PQR AC= AB =4 cm, RQ=10 cm and
BC=6cm. What is the length of PR? Which type of triangle is ∆PQR?​

Let x be the PQ and y be the PR.

 \sf \:  \frac{AB}{ PQ}  =  \frac{BC }{QR}  =  \frac{AC }{ PR}  \\  \\  \frac{4}{x}  =   \sf \: \frac{6}{10}  =  \frac{4}{y}  \\  \\ now \:  \: x \:  \:  \\  \\ 40 = 6x \\  \\ x =  \frac{40}{6}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{20}{3}  \\  \\ now \:  \: y \\  \\ 6y = 40 \\  \\ y =  \frac{40}{6}  \\  \\ y =  \frac{20}{3}  \\  \\  \sf \therefore \: length \:  \: of \:  \:  PR \: is \:  \:  \frac{20}{3} and \:  \:  \: also \:  \:  \triangle \: PQR \:  \: is \:  \: an \:  \: isosceles \:  \: triangle..
