8. A motorboat covers a distance upstream in 6 hours and covers the same distance downstream in 5 hours . If the speed of water is 3 km/h , then find the speed of the boat in still water?

Let velocity in still water be S

Velocity of water be W

distance to be covered be D

D=6(S+W)

D=10(S−W)

which gives S=4W

So, D=7.5hrs.
