a)Add: 1 /5 + 1 /10 = 1 · 2 /5 · 2 + 1 /10 = 2 /10 + 1 /10 = 2 + 1 /10 = 3 /10

The common denominator you can calculate as the least common multiple of the both denominators - LCM(5, 10) = 10

Add: 3 /10 + 3 /10 = 3 + 3 /10 = 6 /10 = 3 /5

The common denominator you can calculate as the least common multiple of the both denominators - LCM(10, 10) = 10
