mainly there are three properties of matter:
1. solids: these have definite shape and volume.there molecules are closely packed due to strong intermolecular forces.
2. liquids: these do not have definite shape but have definite volume.there molecules are less strongly packed as compared to solids because of weak intermolecular forces between them.
3. gases:these do not have fixed shape amd volume.there molecules are not closely packed due to very weak intermolecular forces.
