Answer:

Price of 1 dozen banana =Rs30.

Price of 12 dozen banana =Rs30×12=Rs360.

So Aditya has Rs360 with him to buy bananas.

Now if the price is increased by Rs10

New price of 1 dozen banana =Rs40

Total money Aditya has =Rs360

No. of dozen he can buy =

Priceof1dozen

TotalMoney

=

40

360

=9

Aditya can buy 9 dozen bananas with the money he has.

Given :  Maureen's profit from selling bananas in school is given by

P = 3x² – 3x + 10, where x is the total number of bananas sold in the day. she only had a profit of Php 70.00 yesterday,

To Find: how many bananas did she sell?

Solution:

P = 3x² – 3x + 10

P = profit =  70

3x² – 3x + 10 = 70

=> 3x² – 3x - 60 = 0

=> x² - x - 20 = 0

=> x² - 5x + 4x - 20 = 0

=> x(x - 5) + 4(x - 5) = 0

=> (x - 5) (x + 4) = 0

=> x = 5  or x = - 4

Bananas sold can not be negative

Hence x = 5

So Bananas Sold = 5

She sold 5  bananas
